Was named in 1904
after the noted English animal painter, Sir Edwin Henry Landseer.
Although there is
no longer any visible sign of the “prairie giants”, the Ogilvie and Manitoba
Pool elevators, Landseer was once a major grain shipping point, serving a large
trading area in all directions.
Permanent recognition of the location of
this community of yesteryear was made by the dedication of a cairn on
October 28/00.
