MACDONALD

The Macdonald Pioneer Cemetery, which was formed in the late 1880s, was originally associated with a church, but quickly came to be operated by the local community. The cemetery contains about 30 graves, many of them marked with beautiful granite headstones and monuments. Long neglected, the cemetery was restored through the determination of local residents Beryl Davidson and Dorothy Gillespie (whose grandfather had donated the land). Broken headstones were repaired and the grounds were tended and beautified with plantings.
