In 1949 Mr. Funk bought the Newton store from Mr. Toews. At that time it was a grocery store that sold coal and groceries. Mr. Funk then developed it into a lumber store. Today Newton Enterprises has a staff of about 50 and serves customers across Canada and International markets.
