SAINT-CLAUDE

In St. Claude, a cenotaph has been erected to commemorate the veterans of the two world wars. Every July 14th, a Bastille Day celebration is held to honor their memory, and in commemoration of the 1789 destruction of the Bastille prison in France.

St. Claude's pipe is registered in the Guiness World Book of Records as the world’s second-largest smoking pipe.

Five miles south of St. Claude is St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, in 1939, and a cemetery.

The St. Claude Grotto was erected as a gift of appreciation to Sister Marie-Adelard for her 25 years of religious life by her former students.

St. Claude's Church has unique architecture, and was designed by the famous architect, Etienne Gaboury.

The Dairy Museum contains a large collection of dairy artifacts. One section is the evolution of stalls in the barn, a creamery with a large wooden churn and a pasterurizer, and a dairy displaying cream separators, churns, etc.

The creamery is owned and operated by Parmalat, and produces butter and powdered milk.
